This privacy policy applies to the Smart Scan PDF app, hereby referred to as the “Application”, for mobile devices that was created by Yaseen Khalaf, hereby referred to as the “Service Provider”, as an Ad Supported service. This service is intended for use “AS IS”.
Application Features
Smart Scan PDF allows users to create, import, preview, organize, share, and sign PDF documents directly from their iPhone.
The Application may allow users to scan documents using the device camera, import existing PDF files or images, create PDF documents, preview saved files, share documents, delete files, and create handwritten signatures that can be saved and reused later inside the Application.
Documents, images, PDF files, and signatures created or imported by the user are used only to provide the main functions of the Application. The Application does not use the content of user documents or signatures for advertising purposes.
Information Collection and Use
The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include information such as:
Your device’s Internet Protocol address, such as IP address The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on those pages The time spent on the Application The operating system you use on your mobile device Device identifiers, usage data, advertising data, performance data, and crash data, where applicable through third-party services such as AdMob
The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device.
The Application does not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to process your data or provide features.
For a better experience, while using the Application, the Service Provider may require you to provide certain personally identifiable information. The information requested by the Service Provider will be retained and used as described in this privacy policy.
Camera, Files, Photos, and Signatures
The Application may request access to the device camera to allow users to scan documents and create PDF files.
The Application may also request access to files or photos when the user chooses to import PDF documents or images.
The Application may store PDF files and handwritten signatures locally inside the Application so users can preview, manage, share, delete, or reuse them later.
The user controls the documents, files, and signatures they create, import, save, share, or delete inside the Application.
Third Party Access
Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and their service. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.
Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below is the third-party service provider used by the Application:
AdMob
The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process; when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request; with trusted service providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information disclosed to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement. Smart Scan PDF uses Google AdMob to display advertisements inside the Application.
Google AdMob may collect and process certain data such as device identifiers, advertising data, usage data, and diagnostic information in order to provide, personalize, measure, and improve advertising services.
The data collected by Google AdMob is handled according to Google’s own privacy policies and advertising practices.
Opt-Out Rights
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace.
You may also control certain advertising and tracking permissions through your device privacy settings.
Data Retention Policy
The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter.
Documents, PDF files, images, and signatures stored locally inside the Application remain under the user’s control. Users may delete files or signatures from within the Application where available, or uninstall the Application to remove locally stored app data.
If you would like the Service Provider to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact the Service Provider at yaseen.khalaf.ahmed@gmail.com and they will respond in a reasonable time.
Children
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.
If the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this information from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider at yaseen.khalaf.ahmed@gmail.com so that the necessary actions can be taken.
Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify users of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy.
You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
